Steve has practiced law in Washington State since 1979.  He has been a prosecutor, and a criminal defense attorney.  He represents clients in family law, construction disputes, landlord-tenant law, boundary disputes, wills and probates, guardianships, personal injury and general civil litigation.  He is a certified mediator, a District, Municial and Tribal Court Judge Pro Tem, Superior Court Arbitrator, and Mediator and Guardian ad litem.  He has begun practicing collaborative law. In addition to his law practice, Steve is an active member of the community, and has been involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, United Way, Cub Scouts, Kitsap Dispute Resolution Center and the Juvenile Court Citizen Advisory Board. 

Alton McFadden, Partner and Attorney
Alton was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1999; however, he had been practicing law as a rule 9 intern prosecuting cases for both Bainbridge Island and Poulsbo since 1997 (these cases included a substantial number of domestic violence cases and DUI’s). He was also on the felony panel for Department of Assigned Counsel in Pierce County for several years and so litigated a large number of serious felonies including sexual assault and a wide variety of drug cases. Alton’s current law practice includes a substantial amount of criminal defense, including serious felonies, domestic violence, and DUI’s, and civil matters including dissolutions, paternity, construction disputes, boundary disputes, wills, probates, personal injury and general civil litigation.  Alton is admitted to practice in both the Suquamish and S'Klallam tribal courts and handles family law cases, including jurisdictional issues in both of the tribal courts.  Alton is an avid outdoorsman, getting out to camp, hunt, and fish whenever possible.
